Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

TubeTools is built to be private by default. This policy explains what we do and don't collect. It's written in plain language because that's the point.

Your files never leave your device

Our image tools — the cropper, resizer and similar — process everything locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Images you upload or paste are never sent to our servers. When you download a thumbnail, your browser fetches it directly from YouTube's public image CDN.

What we do collect

We use privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity) to understand which tools are useful and where the site breaks. This includes anonymized usage data like pages visited, approximate region and device type. We use this only to improve the product. We do not sell your data, and we don't run advertising trackers.

Channel & video lookups

Tools that look up channel or video details send only the public ID or URL you provide to the YouTube Data API to retrieve public information. We don't store these queries with any identifying information about you.

Local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember small conveniences like your recent lookups and theme preference. This data stays on your device and you can clear it anytime through your browser settings.

Cookies

We use only the cookies required for analytics described above. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Children

TubeTools is a general-audience tool not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If we update this policy we'll change the date above. Questions? Reach us via the contact page.
